Welcome to the 2026 Travel Club!
This year we are exploring new destinations with a brand new theme - we are exploring FILM LOCATIONS!
I love film, and I love all the colours and scenery each film shares with us - from the bright and hot tones to and cooler more gentle tones seens in period dramas with their wild rugged landscapes. Intensely bright colours of far off destinations with colours we rarely see in nature here in the UK to the more familiar greens and blues of the British landscape.
And so for January 2026.
It is at this time of year, when it is dark and dull, grey, and often very muddy brown where I live, that I reach for an all time classic and favourite film of mine, The Most Exotic Marigold Hotel.
I love everything about this film. The colours, the location, the actors and the sentiment of aging and friendship and love. So, it's no surprise that I chose this film to be the inspiration behind my January destination.

The film is set in Ravia Khempur in Rajahstan, India. The noise, the colours of the saris, tuk tuks, street life and the warmth it radiates is so inspiring. Think orange, pink, yellow and blues. I really hope you love your yarn.

Here's the QR code for the sound track on Spotify for this wonderfully colourful film. Enjoy, happy colourful knitting, I can't wait to see what you create with your yarn! And if you get the chance, I can't recommend watching The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel at this time of year, it's available to stream on Disney +.
