February, the month of romance and love... love stories and passion.
The greatest love story of them all, of course it's Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare.
Rather than go traditional this month with pinks and reds (we did that last year after all while visiting Paris) this year I wanted to be bold and with a modern twist. If anyone is going to do that in the world of cinema and story telling it is Baz Lurhmann and his adaptation; Romeo + Juliet.
If you have seen the film you will remember the iconic scene where Romeo and Juliet's eye meet through an aquarium and they fall in love. And although of course the colours are not the typical colours of Verona (rust, sienna and terracotta colours) these blues, turquoise with neon pops of pink, yellow and orange are the colours of Baz Lurhmann's Verona and the vibrancy of the story he tells.
I love Baz Luhrmann's films; the colours, the intensity and the fun, he brings a curveball to our perceived ideas around stories and tales.
