We are going to China!

This trip is one of the most exotic trips we take.  The culture is so different to our own and so very different to the countries we have travelled so far!

We are meeting at Hong Kong airport and after a long journey we are taking a slower few days to visit some of the highlights of Hong Kong.

Day One

As this is an all expenses spare and imaginary escape, we are staying at the wonderful Shangri-La Hotel in Hong Kong.

Having arrived after our long flight from the UK we rest before taking to the Yun Wellness retreat for some needed pampering.  Our journey into China will be fast paced, exciting, loud and busy!

Evening Meal
We dine in the Ming Pavilion within the hotel grounds - we have travelled too far not to take advantage of some luxury!

Day Two

Taking in the highlights of Hong Kong.
Meeting early at 7.30am, I hope jet lag isn't too much!
We take the super cute taxi to the Peak Tram and Victoria Island.
The Peak tram is one of the world's first funiculars and it is a step climb with an impressive view of Hong Kong from the top - it's breath taking.
We then visit Man Mo Temple, dating back to the 27th Year of Emperor Tao-kuang, Ching dynasty” which is 1847 A.D.
Our trip is steeped in culture and you will recognise the deep saturated coloured of your yarn throughout our journey, speckles of black and flashes of gold and green throughout.
Back to Kowloon taking in the flower markets, Mong Kok before visiting Victoria Harbour to eat and reflect on day of colour and history.

 Day Three
We take the high speed train from Hong Kong to Shanghai.
We take the train so we see the most of the Chinese landscape as we fly through the countryside. As this trip takes up to 18 hrs we have the abilities to knit, craft, chat and dine on our train.  After travelling and a busy day in Hong Kong this is appreciated.

We book into the Shangri-La Shanghai, rest while taking morning tea before taking a walking city tour of Shanghai.  I hope you packed your trainers because in the evening we take a street food walking tour!

Day Five
We take the bullet train to visit the Southern Great Wall Tour.
This trip is designed to give you city, culture and history and this is most definitely historical, read here for more!

Day Six
It's another train day!  This time we take a train to our final city Beijing!
Not such a long trip this time, but an early start allows us to relax for 6 hours and knit before arriving at Beijing.
We take visit Jingshan Park and enjoy stunning views while we rest, knit and enjoy chatter at a slower pace.
We stay in the Mandarin Hotel this time, famed for exceptional cuisine.

Evening meal at the Mandarin Hotel.

Day Seven
This has been a super busy tour with long days and quite possibly a sensory overload!Today is your day, rest by the pool, take in more culture, look for yarn shops, gift buy; the day is yours!

Day Eight
Fly home.

You may decide to extend your trip - we have come so far and there is so much to visit!  Next month we are not travelling as far...
