Meet me at Centraal Station - Amsterdam!
A little secret; from Paris we jump on the train to Amsterdam, why not extend the fun? So, your What3Words for meeting up is hunt.soon.chicken
To me Amsterdam in Spring and Summer is fresh! Fresh, lush, green and vibrant. The houses have hollyhocks growing just outside, colourful bikes are everywhere, the parks are full of green space, flowers, birds and in Vondelpark there are parrots darting between the trees.
It's a such vibrant and fun place to be, We can travel by foot, barge and bikes and explore the city and it's fabulous galleries and museums. There are so many places to stop, rest, catch up and knit. But of course there's yarn shops to visit! No trip to Amsterdam is complete without a visit to Stephen and Penelope.
So, here's our plan for an amazing day;
Our day in Amsterdam starts at Centraal Station early at 8.00am and we will walk to the stunning Hortus Botanicus and enjoy breakfast outdoors before taking in the stunning glasshouses and botanical gardens.
Next we hit the museums, Van Gogh first and then lunch at the amazing Rijksmuseum before heading to the Museum of Modern Art so full of colour, light and art installations, just stunning. And there's some great crochet at these gift shops!
Time for some relaxation, time to knit and watch the world go by - we head to Vondelpark and it's beautiful outdoor cafe. This is the perfect place to people watch, it's vibrant, fun and colourful. Time to rest and knit.
Time now to visit Stephen and Penelope and indulge on some yarn shopping while also visting the most amazing haberdashery store next door!
8pm, dinner at Ron's Gastro Bar - we're dressed smart, it's time for wine, good food, chat and reminiscing about a fabulous day. Another great trip and Escapism through Yarn!
And so to crash out - we're staying just across the way from the Tony's Chocoloney HQ at the Conscious Hotel in Westerpark - it means chocolate sampling for breakfast, shame!
Thanks for coming for the ride!
Just a little something else, have you read The Miniaturist by Jesse Burton? It's so good!
Also, I dye more yarn than required as spares so if you would like another skein to add to a larger than one skein project I may have a spare.
Thank you so much! Amy
