Introducing the Mamie and Florrie Summer Project Bag

The brand new Mamie and Florrie project bags have arrived!  Aren’t they great?

Perfect for your holiday and travel knits, large enough for jumpers and larger projects, and all the kit we need for the perfect get-away.  Drawstring closure to prevent your treasured items rolling around on the aeroplane or train and perfectly squishy to squeeze into a rucksack or travel bag.  Super easy to fold or roll when empty and pack away and fully washable.

And the even better news:

They are made by a Fairtrade accredited factory in India, employing an 80% women workforce,  ensuring female empowerment and helping women from underprivileged backgrounds become the breadwinners for their families.

Made by a factory championing sustainable production methods from the farming of cotton to production, reducing water, energy, and waste.

Throughout my career, I have visited many factories around the world and fully endorse those who support women in upskilling and allowing them to support their families.  Not all women have these opportunities, and I have witnessed varying degrees of this, so I am incredibly happy to support a business that does.

Summer project bags are £4.50 each or free for the limited period until 31.08.24 on all orders over £75.00 - no need to apply a code; one will automatically be added to your parcel.

Open Studio - August Dates

As I will be happily ensconced in all things woolly at the North East Wool Show on the second Saturday of August, August’s Weekend Open Studio will be NEXT Sunday, 4th August, 10am to 3pm.

If you would like to visit the area for the day, here are a few of my favourite places to visit from left to right:

Mam Torr - if you are lucky the paragliders will be flying, a moderate walk with stunning views! Take in Winnats Pass at the same time.

The Goyt Valley and Fernilee Reservoirs - circular walks; walk one or lots!

Buxton Spa Town - Visit the Crescent, Cavendish Arcade, Scriveners Book Shop, or enjoy a walk up to Soloman’s Temple.

Celebrating at Mamie and Florrie

It was so lovely to have a visitor coming to Mamie and Florrie as her birthday treat this week. It would have been rude not to have celebrated with some birthday cake, so we did!

If you would like to bring a friend for a birthday treat, please let me know in advance, and we can arrange a birthday cake welcome and/or flowers from a local patisserie and florist.

Just drop me a message at amy@mamieandflorrie.co.uk or call me on 01663 611539; your secret will be safe with me!

And if you are in the North East in a couple of weeks!

As always, keep an eye on my social media, especially for yarn reveals in the days leading up to the North East Wool Show and have for new products look here;
